Rafyoullah Burhani

Born in 1964 in Shahi, Alingar, Laghman, Afghanistan. 

EDUCATION: I attended Shahi school for 7 years, then Parwayee school until grade 10, and later moved to Shaikh Mohammad Husain High School for one year. Due to the Russian invasion of Afghanistan and the onset of Jihad or civil war, I migrated to Peshawar, Pakistan, in 1980. I then attended Mujahid High School and graduated as a top student. I later received a scholarship to Kuwait and graduated from Kuwait University in 1994. WORKING
 
EXPERIENCE: In 1980, I worked as a Clerk at Jamie Islami Afghanistan Main Office. In 1989, I worked as an Afghan Disability Project Manager with UNOCA in Peshawar. From 1990 to 1991, I worked at MSH Peshawar as a manager, overseeing almost 150 clinics and administrative offices in Afghanistan. From 1994 to 2003, I worked as a Physiotherapist in Kuwait. Since 2003, I have been working as a Physiotherapist in Canada.
 
POSTGRADUATE STUDIES INCLUDE NUMEROUS PROFESSIONAL COURSES: Sports Injury in Kuwait. Laser Therapy in Canada. McKenzie Part A, B, C in Canada. Brain Mulligan Upper Extremities in Canada. Vestibular Rehab in Canada. I also published my first book of poems under the title, “The Talks of Heart.”
 
LANGUAGES: Pashto, Dari, Persian, Arabic, English and some Urdu. HOBBIES: Hunting and fishing. Writing poetry
