Many Afghans have been displaced due to the ongoing conflicts and internal strife in their homeland, seeking refuge in various parts of the world. Those of us who have found a new home in Ontario, Canada, belong to this resilient community. It’s a well-established truth that to preserve our cultural identity, we must stay connected and share in each other’s joys and sorrows. Given our unique challenges and the vital need for mutual support, fostering brotherhood, friendship, love, and affection among us becomes essential. This approach not only helps us uphold our cultural values but also contributes to our collective well-being in this new country.
As a non-profit organization, we are entirely independent and do not align with any political or religious entities within or outside of Afghanistan. Our sole focus is on addressing the specific needs and challenges faced by Afghans living in Ontario with sincerity and dedication. We are committed to upholding Canadian laws in all our endeavors, especially in promoting brotherhood, unity, and harmony within our community and extending these values to the broader Afghan community in Ontario. This proactive stance ensures that we maintain our identity within Canada’s rich tapestry of multiculturalism.
Recognizing the recent influx of immigrants from various provinces of Afghanistan to Ontario, all members of our organization have unanimously agreed to rename it from its previous name, ‘Loyee Nangarhar’ to ‘Afghan Paiwastoon‘. This change reflects our unity and collective purpose in serving the needs and aspirations of Afghans in Ontario while embracing our cultural heritage and contributing positively to Canadian society.
